AIKS expresses its solidarity with the Tamil Nadu Farmers Sitting on Dharna at Jantar Mantar
AIKS demands the Prime Minister to take immediate decision over the just demands including write off farmer’s debt among others of Tamil Nadu farmers who are sitting at Jantar Mantar on Dharna. The Dharna entered 9th day today.
AIKS Joint Secretary NK Shukla and Treasurer P Krishnaprasad visited the farmers Sitting on Dharna at Jantar Mantar and had discussion with P Ayyakannu, leader of the farmers association.
AIKS leaders strongly criticised the Union Government for its callous attitude on agrarian crisis and declared that joint struggles all over the country is the need of the hour to pressurise the anti – peasant Union government which through the neo-liberal policies only contribute to further worsening the plight of the peasantry. The Modi Govt. is writing off the loans of corporates in name of NPA but giving no help to the farmers who are forced to commit suicides. It is to be noted that Tamilnadu and other south Indian states are reeling under the severe drought situation.
