Observe 11th April as 81st foundation day of AIKS

All India Kisan Sabha has a glorious heritage of struggles in its history of eight decades. AIKS has tradition of struggles and sacrifices. From its inception at the time of freedom struggle AIKS played an important role to organize peasantry against British colonialism and feudal landlordism and after independence the fight for people’s democratic society with pro peasantry policy continued.
The coming 11th April is 81st foundation day of AIKS. It was founded on 11th April, 1936 at Lucknow, under the chairmanship of Swami Sahajanand Saraswati. So AIKS centre appeals to all its units & peasantry across the country to observe this day and flag hosting programs should be organized. Programmes of meeting, conventions etc to expose the anti-peasant policy of central BJP government and concerned state governments. Under present regime the peasants’ suicides have increased due to polices which are affecting them worst. As, the farmers are neither getting cheap inputs nor adequate MSP for their produces even not what Dr. Swaminathan commission recommended (cost plus 50%), they are reeling under the burden of debt and they are getting no relief of loan waiver, while corporate are getting all waivers and incentives, land-reform laws are being diluted while attacks on their land is continuing through draconian land acquisition ordinances now being brought through state governments. Farmers are not provided proper relief in the period of natural calamities and now contract farming is going to be encouraged as to end the systematic procurement on MSP and dismantle PDS, as proposed in latest central Budget. No step is taken to enact central laws for agricultural workers.
In such a situation All India Kisan Sabha appeals to all the peasantry and agri-workers to organize united resistance movement against these anti-peasant policies, while preserving the secular unity of the people. So AIKS foundation day should be point to reflect the history of struggles and continuing fight.
