Farmers protested in more than 150 districts of country

AIKS congratulate the peasantry for hold successful protest across the country

Thousands of peasants and farmers across the country holding the red flags of AIKS protested in over 150 districts and even hundreds of peasants were detained in few places at the call of Bhoomi Adhikar Andolan to hold rallies/sit in/jail bharo on 9th August 2017 on seven demands of farmers. In Rajasthan  15 districts this protest was held and in few place peasants were even detained, Haryana there was Regional  protest at Rohtak commissioner, Himachal Pradesh there was a central protest at Shimla in which thousands of peasants participated, West Bengal  there was protest in 19 districts, in Tripura protest was held in 8 districts, Punjab  peasants protested in over 13 districts, Madhya Pradesh there was protests in 13 districts, at Rewa formers protested with more than 400 cattle’s with them, Bihar this protest of farmers was held in over 20 districts, Uttar Pradesh in more than 15 districts protest programs was organised, Andhra Pradesh in 15 districts, Telangana tenant farmers protested in 10 districts, Uttarakhand this protest was held in 3 districts and in Karnataka, Odisha  and other states of nation militant protest of farmers were held.

Enact a law to ensure remunerative price of 50% above cost of production to all crops, all kind of loan waiver to the peasantry, withdraw the anti-farmer notification of the Central Government banning cattle trade, formally withdraw of the land acquisition bill from the Parliament, implementation of Forest Rights Act, implementation of MNREGA effectively, ensure monthly pension of Rs 5000 at the age of 60 were the main demands of protest.

All India Kisan Sabha congratulate the peasants of the country to hold this successful protest in the entire nation and for the basic necessary demands of peasantry. AIKS appeal to all the units across the country to strengthen the united peasant’s movement and take forward united struggles for fulfilling the basic demands of farmers.
