Brutal Attack by BDO and Landlord Goons at Runisaidpur, Bihar

All India Kisan Sabha condemns the brutal murderous attack by Block Development Officer and landlord goons at Runisaidpur in Sitamadhi district of Bihar, yesterday afternoon. Number of  persons were seriously injured with severe burns. Binda Sahni has been admitted to Patna hospital and is fighting for life having suffered 100 percent burns. Another victim a landless widow Anari Devi is admitted in Muzaffarpur hospital with severe burn injury.

Landless people from Dalit and other oppressed sections who were living in huts in 10.7 acres of ceiling surplus land (in all 316 families) were being forcibly evicted even though earlier decision and gazette notification to give pattas. The new incharge BDO with landlord goons attacked the Protest Dharna by AIKS, AIAWU and CPI-M with petrol bombs. Earlier in 2000 our struggle had ensured pattas for 435 landless families. Kisan Sabha President Lalan Choudhary and CPI-M State Secretary Awadesh Kumar and others have reached the spot and protests are continuing.

AIKS demands strong deterrent action, arrest and dismissal of BDO, CI and other goons involve in this act. Our struggle for land rights will continue and we shall overcome the attacks by reactionary forces.
