AIKS condemn the authoritarian attack by TMC in West Bengal

The post poll violence unleashed on the people will not be tolerated

The All India Kisan Sabha expressed strong protest against the inhuman and violent attack unleashed on the Left Front activists and leaders of various mass organizations including Kisan Sabha by the authoritarian forced led by Trinamool Mool Congress in West Bengal during and after the assembly poll.

Among others the houses of Madn Ghosh all India Vice President of Kisan Sabha and state leader Saidul Haq ex MP were attacked and ransacked by TMC supporters and anti socials. In the pre poll violence so far around 600 houses were attacked, one person killed and hundreds got injured and hospitalized. More than 500 party offices were looted, burnt and attacked.

The incident happened in Kespur in West Midnapore is unheard of and shocking. The family members of Left activists were beaten up mercilessly and then salt and chilly were applied in their wounds. No one was allowed to taken to hospitals or doctors. No civilized society can tolerate such heinous crimes on innocent villagers including women and children. In Jadavpur where CPIM leader Sujan Chakraborthy won, more than 40 houses were attacked, bombed and ransacked. In this area TMC supporters entered houses and assaulted women.

The bicycles given to girl students whose family members were known to vote to Left Front candidates were snatched by TMC workers. The TMC leaders have forcefully prevented the fare shop agents from distributing ration to left supporters.

The violence is continuing unabated even after the Governor wrote a letter to Chief Minister Mamatha Banarjee to take administrative actions to stop post poll violence.

Such attacks with the active support of the TMC government will not succeed to suppress the mass and class organizations and democratic movement of the people of West Bengal which has the historic tradition of withstanding the semi fascist terror of 1970’s.

The Kisan Sabha will mobilize the peasantry and build strong resistance against the authoritarian forces supported by the TMC government.

The All India Kisan Sabha calls up on the peasantry all over the country to organize protest and solidarity actions in support of the activists and supporters of the progressive movement of the West Bengal.
