AIKS awards Relief Fund to victims of Alwar incident
Rs. 10 lakh to family of Pehlu Khan
Rs. 4 lakh to Ajmat, Rs.1 lakh to Rafeeq
The AIKS awards the Relief fund to family of Pehlu Khan and other Victims in Alwar incident today 24th May, 2017 at Jaisingpur, district Nuh in Haryana. AIKS General Secretary Hannan Mollah will hand over the fund to the family members of the victims.
Pehlu Khan a dairy farmer was lynched by vigilante groups called Gourakhsaks who are activists of VHP and Bajrang Dal at Alwar, in Rajasthan. He was attacked on 1st April and died on 3rd April at hospital. Ajmt was seriously injured and is still bed ridden. Rafeeq, Arif and Irshad were injured in the incident.
The Vasundare Raje led State Government of Rajasthan so far did not arrest the real culprits who are named in the FIR. The State government did not announce any compensation to the bereaved family of Pehlu Khan. The AIKS had demanded the state government to provide Rs.1 crore as compensation to the family of Pehlu Khan considering the danger of communal frenzy the heinous attack could spread in the society and as a message to the perpetrators of such violence.
This is a serious matter as far as the constitutional and legal system of governance is concerned. If the people lost trust on legal and judicial system that will bring complete anarchy and lawlessness in the society and disrupt the unity and integrity of the country. In this context, the AIKS had declared if the Rajasthan Government fails to give justice and compensation to the victims, then the peasants all over the country will ensure the victim families will get justice and protection.
The various cow protection laws enacted by BJP led state Governments denies the right of dairy farmers on cattle trade thus making dairy farms economically unviable. The agrarian aspects of this issue were also highlighted by AIKS in the context of the Alwar incident. A PIL will be submitted to Supreme Court to protect the interests of the dairy farmers by AIKS.
