“Pol Khol, Halla Bol” (Expose and Protest) campaign

Demonstrations and public meetings in state capitals and New Delhi on 23 May 2018

To observe Protest Day with a slogan “Modi Sarkar ki char saal, Pol khol, Halla Bol’ (Four years of Modi Government, Expose and Protest), JEJAA will organise Massive mobilizations at all state capitals and in New Delhi.

National leaders of various mass and class and social organizations comprising JEJAA including Hannan Mollah, K Hemalatha, Atul Kumar Anjan, Amarjeet Kaur, Kavita Krishnan, Satyavan, Rajeev Dimri, Medha Patkar, Aruna Roy, Prakash Ambedkar among others will attend the demonstration at New Delhi which will start from Mandi House and march towards Parliament Street.

The protest day will be the launch of series of struggles with the aim of making the Government accountable for the devastating impact of its policies and betraying the people especially workers, peasants, women and youth by its false promises. The campaign will put forward the slogan “either the Government changes its policies or people will change the government”.

In spite of the massive struggles against many of the governments’ moves like the land acquisition ordinance, pro employer labour law reforms, anti national privatisation of strategic public sector including the defense and railways, budget cuts on social sector allocations, denial of MSP to peasantry at the rate of 50% above cost of production and comprehensive loan waiver, rampant commercialization of Health and Education sector etc., the BJP led NDA govt is ruthlessly following the pro corporate and anti people neo-liberal economic policies. The government is going ahead with these policies which the people had voted out in 2014.

The RSS- BJP combine that was vocal against the videshi economic policies while in opposition, after come to power has now allowed 100% FDI in agriculture, retail trade, industries and even in defense sector. The latest is the US$ 17 billion deal of the global giant Wall Mart taking over the Indian e commerce company Flip cart. Such abject surrender to Foreign Finance Capital marks the anti-national face of RSS-BJP combine that boast everyday of their love to nationalism.

Four years of NDA Government has devastated the lives of all sections of the toiling people and none of its promises to the people had been fulfilled. It had promised “Sab ka Vikas” (Development of all) but the ‘Vikas’ was for only a chosen few corporate companies.

The BJP manifesto in 2014 Loksabha election had claimed to provide 2 crore employment per year but even 2 lakh jobs per year was not created in the last four years. Unemployment is at its high since independence. Price rise is skyrocketing and the PDS has collapsed with no funds and the elimination in the name of AAdhar. The Modi government has surrendered to the corporate companies in their mission to loot the people through unbridled hike in the price of petroleum products. High-level corruption is manifested in consistent loot of Public Sector Banks by corporate tycoons in the ilk of Vijay Mallya and Neerav Modi under the patronage of the NDA Government.

In addition to this burden, the BJP and RSS have been unleashing terror by spreading caste and communal hatred and violence. The democratic institutions have being taken over by RSS cadres. The law and order situation has become the worst ever in the BJP ruled states with mobs and gangs roaming free on streets lynching people and being protected by those who are in power. More than 40 innocent lives had been crushed to death by cow vigilantes. None of these criminals were punished so far. The murder of Gouri Lankesh is the latest among the series of murders to suppress the voice of dissent and rationality. Under BJP rule, the upper caste private armies are unleashing cruelty against dalits and adivasis and marginalized.

The RSS has established its cell rule in many parts of the country and there is no safety for life of any citizen under Modi rule. Riots, encounter killings, murders and rape against women and children have become routine with RSS- BJP leaders in the forefront shamelessly to support and protect the perpetuators of such crimes.

JEJAA is the largest platform consists of more than 100 organisations representing – trade unions, peasants, agricultural workers, state and central government , bank and insurance employees, school, college and university teachers, women, youth and students, social movements of dalits, adivasis, minorities, environmentalists etc having a membership of around 20 crores. JEJAA will organize series of struggles against the corrupt and anti people rule of NDA Government.
