Gujarat State Kisan Sabha Conference held in Muval, Vadodara
On 21st September 2017, the Gujarat State Kisan Sabha Conference was held amidst enthusiasm at Muval village in Vadodara district. 103 delegates from several districts, including 9 women, attended. State president Pragjibhai Bhambhi presided and state secretary Kuberbhai Bhambhi placed the written report.
AIKS joint secretary Dr Ashok Dhawale and CITU leader Arun Mehta addressed the conference. The Conference elected a 21 member state committee with new key office bearers – Dayabhai Gajera as state president and Purushottam Parmar as state secretary. 7 delegates and 2 alternates to the Hissar AIKS conference were also elected. The conference was followed by an impressive public meeting at night in Muval village. The anti-peasant, anti-people, pro-corporate policies and communal conspiracies of the BJP regimes at the centre and in the state came in for scathing criticism in the conference and in the public meeting.
