CPM MLA calls upon farmers to gherao Rajasthan Assembly over loan waiver
Despite a section of farmers welcoming Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje’s budget proposal to waive off farmers’ loans, remaining or overdue up to Rs 50,000 in hands of cooperative banks, political opponents are threatening to revive agitation demanding loan waiver on loans from all banks.
Amra Ram, MLA from CPI (M) who has been leading a farmers’ agitation has threatened to gherao the Assembly on February 22 if their demands are not met.
He said government’s proposal aimed at breaking farmers into various categories such as small and marginal to divide them.
