All India Kisan Sabha Protest Long March: Traffic Advisory Issued by Mumbai Police For Today, March 11 – India.com

The massive protest march of the All India Kisan Sabha with more than 30,000 farmers crossed the Thane-Mulund Check Naka and entered Mumbai today.

They will be heading to the Maharashtra Assembly tomorrow, i.e., March 12, demanding a complete loan waiver among other demands. The Mumbai Police have put traffic restrictions in place for March 11 till 10 pm.

The Long March that entered Mumbai via the Eastern Express Highway today will proceed via Vikhroli, Mata Ramabhai Ambedkar Nagar, Chheda Nagar, Suman Nagar, and will reach Somaiyya Ground in Sion by about 9 pm today. The Mumbai Police have said that the Eastern Express Highway south bound from Anand Nagar Toll Plaza till Somaiyya Ground will remain shut for heavy vehicles and all kinds of vehicles carrying goods from 9 am till 10 pm today.

This traffic will be diverted via Kalva, Vitava, Airoli and Vashi Creek Bridge. The speed limit for light vehicles adjacent to the Long March Route has been restricted at 20 km per hour. Here is the complete traffic advisory and alternative routes for March 11:

The farmers’ march started on Wednesday from Nashik and the farmers have planned to ‘gherao’ the Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha after reaching Mumbai on March 12.

The Shiv Sena also extended their support to ongoing farmers protest against the failure of Devendra Fadnavis government. The state government had announced loan waiver of Rs 4,000 crore last year.
