Massive CITU-AIKS-AIAWU Rally in Brigade Maidan, Kolkata
Lakhs of workers, peasants, agricultural workers, rural workers, slum dwellers and the toiling masses of Bengal came to the Brigade parade ground in Kolkata to demand their rights and show their anger against the anti-people TMC Government in West Bengal and against the communal-corporate BJP Government at the Centre.
It is a struggle of the basic classes against the neo-liberal economic policies. It is a struggle for alternative policies. It is a harbinger of more militant united struggles starting with the 20th May General Strike called by the working class under the banner of Central Trade Unions and coordinated action on the same day by the peasantry under the banner of Samyukta Kisan Morcha and platform of agricultural workers’ unions.
