Bhumi Adhikar Andolan demands immediate release of Akhil Gogoi, announces nationwide campaign
“The continued incarceration of Akhil Googi is a political ploy to completely silence any voice of dissent in Assam today,” alleged leaders of Bhumi Adhikar Andolan at a press conference in Delhi. A delegation of BAA was not allowed to meet Akhil Gogoi in Dibrugarh jail on November 12, who has been in jail since September 13 under sections 120B, 121, 124, 109, 153, 153A and under National Security Act since September 25.
The press conference was addressed by Hannan Mollah, General Secretary, All India Kisan Sabha, Comrade Roma, Deputy General Secretary, All India Union of Forest Working People and Dr Sunilam, National Convener, National Alliance of People’s Movements at Bhumi Adhikar Andolan office in New Delhi.
