Farmers demand fair prices for agriculture produces | Times of India
BHUBANESWAR: Thousands of farmers staged massive rally near state assembly here on Monday demanding implementation of MS Swaminathan Committee recommendations to determine minimum support price (MSP) of agricultural products.
Two farmer rallies were conducted at Lower PMG separately. One was organised by Odisha Krushak Sangathan Samanwaya Samiti (OKSSS), a platform of farmer bodies of the state, and the second one was conducted by the All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC), a platform of different farmer bodies of the country to take up issues of the peasants.
Leaders like All India Kisan Sabha general secretary Hannan Mollah, AIKSCC member Yogendra Yadav and farmer leaders from West Bengal including Kartik Pal addressed both the rallies and raised the same two issues- freedom from debt and fair prices for agriculture produces.
