The midnight price hike is a cruel assault on people

Pro-corporate PM will face the working people’s wrath

AIKS appeal the peasantry to retaliate by making the 2nd September strike a resounding success

The AIKS strongly protest the midnight price hike of petroleum products imposed on the people by the Narendra Modi Government. The Rs.3.37 hike in petroleum price and Rs. 2.67 hike in diesel price is quite extensive and cannot be justified. It is a cruel attack over the working people of the country who are consistently facing severe economic exploitation under the neo liberal corporate forces.

Since inception the BJP led Modi Government has been consistently granting concessions to the corporate companies through tax exemption, writing off their debt liabilities, privatization of public assets, pro-land acquisition measures, allowing 100% FDI on all sectors etc. PM shall remember that the major promise given to the people in the last general election by the BJP was controlling price hike. And now his government is consistently imposing price hike over the ordinary people shamelessly. This will not be tolerated forever by the peasantry and the working class. AIKS demands the Prime Minister to immediately withdraw the decision to hike the price of petroleum products.

The AIKS observe that the imposition of the price hike at midnight is amply justifying the call of the trade unions and the peasant and agriculture worker organizations to organize all India strike on 2nd September. Hence the AIKS do appeal to the peasantry and the working class all over the country to retaliate and enforces their striking power to make the all India strike a resounding success. And thus force the Modi Government to retract from these anti-people policies.
