Instead of debt relief, the farmer gets death sentence

In village Bhori of Mahmudabad Dalit farmer Gyan Chandra was murdered by a finance company crashed with tractor. Kisan Sabha gave a check of Rs.1 lakh to the victim’s family and demanded from government to give 25 lakhs compensation.

Mahmudabad Sitapur: On January 20, in Bhori village of Mahmudabad Kothwali, in the case of murder of a Dalit farmer Gyan Chandra S/O Santalal by crashed with tractor, Kisan Sabha reached the village and handed over a check of Rs. 1 lakh to the deceased’s wife Gyana Devi. Giving this information, AIKS state Secretary Mukut Singh Informed, Kisan Sabha immediately reached village, just after getting the information about the incident. Former MLA from Kerala and Finance Secretary of All India Kisan Sabha P Krishnaprasad, National Joint Secretary NK Shukla, State President Bharat Singh, state Committee member Praveen Singh, CPI state committee member Pradeep Sharma, senior advocate Ajay Dwivedi reached the deceased house and gave a check of Rs. 1 lakh on behalf of All India Kisan Sabha and expressed condolences. On the occasion, the state leader of Kisan Sabha Mukut Singh, addressed the public meeting and assured all possible help in the future to the victim family. He also said that the victim family and the farmers of Sitapur do not think themselves alone we and our Sabha is with all of them. During this visit to the house of the deceased NK Shukla said that in whole country big corporate are doing wrong and unfair treatment with the farmers, we all are know about this. P. Krishna Prasad said in his address that our organization is with you in the hour of this grief and if there will be need of any agitation for justice we will be with you. He also demanded 25 lakh as compensation from the Chief Minister of the state for sustenance of wife and children of the deceased. At end Mukut singh informed that Kisan Sabha with farmers from the entire state, on this issue and on many other demands of farmer’s talks to the state government on 15 March, at Rafaam Club near the city station Lucknow. Hundreds of people including Baburam brother of deceased, Om Prakash, Pathram, Siyaram, Mayawati, Pushpa Devi, Sumitra Devi, Uma Devi, Deshraj were present on this occasion.
