Communal Amity meetings in Solidarity with Pehlu Khan’s family organised countrywide

On the call of All India Kisan Sabha Communal Amity Meetings were organised by different units across the country. Other progressive & secular mass organisations like CITU, AIDWA, SFI, DYFI, AIAWU etc. also participated in it. Pehlu Khan a poor dairy farmer from Jaisingpur of Nuh District of Haryana was killed by Hindutva extremists (self proclaimed ‘gou rakshaks’) backed by RSS on 1st of April 2017 at Behroad, in Alwar District of Rajasthan. AIKS immediately intervened in this issue for justice to Pehlu Khan’s family and demanded one crore rupees and a government job to one family member as compensation but the government did not provide any kind of help or relief  to Pehlu Khan’s family. To protect the communal harmony and brotherhood in the country AIKS decided to organise communal Amity meetings on 30th of April 2017 in every village of country and collect Pehlu Khan Family Relief Fund from all peasant households. Several progressive organisations and individuals also joined this program.

The Communal Amity Meetings were organised in various parts of different states in which  oath was taken not to allow the forces dividing the people on communal lines to succeed in their motives and they resolved to strengthen communal harmony. The Communal Amity Meeting was also organised In Nuh from where Pehlu Khan belongs, which was attended by hundreds of peasants and other democratic minded people. Relief Fund for Pehlu Khan Family was also collected from different areas.
