AIKS Condemns Barbaric Killing of Migrant Labourer in Rajasthan

Sangh Parivar Politics of Hate Responsible for the Brutal Killing

All India Kisan Sabha condemns the barbaric killing of migrant labourer Mohammed Afrazul (47 years) in Rajsamand, Rajasthan by Shambhulal Regar and demands highest possible punishment for the perpetrator of the crime. AIKS extends condolences to the bereaved family of Afrazul.

The atmosphere created by the politics of hate spread by the Sangh Parivar and its affiliates has encouraged and emboldened such criminals to carry out attacks on Minorities. The BJP led State and Central Governments, the Hindutva forces, the RSS and its affiliates are all answerable for the shocking hate crime. AIKS is of the opinion that while the perpetrator of the crime Shambhulal Regar has to be punished according to law, the innumerable Hindutva ideologues who spread communal venom and hatred as well as the BJP Governments that have condoned violent communal attacks are even more culpable of the crime. The BJP Government led by Vasundhara Raje which has failed miserably to protect lives of minorities from communal attacks has lost the moral authority to continue. The creation of a narrative of ‘love-jihad’ is deliberate, aided and abetted by the Sangh Parivar. Hindutva activists indoctrinated by them are carrying out this campaign actively including on the social media in this case. A section of the media has also been deliberately building such a narrative.

The incident in Rajsamand is the most recent of the series of killings of Muslim dairy farmers, cattle traders, killings of rationalists, journalists and writers that have been going on with impunity across the country with overt and covert support of even those in the Government. The accused in the killing of Akhlaq have been given jobs in NTPC, BJP MPs have openly supported the killers. In the Pehlu Khan case the culprits named by him in his dying statement have all been let scot-free. In other cases of lynching and planned killing including the recent killings in Jharkhand the victims of the attacks are being booked under non-bailable sections while the killers roam free evading arrest.

On 6th December, 2017 news reports quoting police sources claimed that a “cow smuggler” was killed in an encounter in Alwar, Rajasthan which is in the vicinity of the places where Pehlu Khan and Ummar Khan have been killed. The Sangh Parivar and BJP Government are trying to brand the entire Mewati community of Muslim dairy farmers in Mewat as a criminal community. The police are aiding in building this narrative. AIKS demands an impartial probe into these killings and an immediate end to such a pernicious campaign reminding one of British period when certain tribes were branded as “Criminal Tribes”.

AIKS calls upon all its units to protest against the gruesome killing of Mohammed Afrazul and also launch an intensive campaign against the Sangh Parivar and its politics of hate. A team from Bengal Kisan Sabha will visit the family.
