AIKS to picket Parliament from Nov 20

Puducherry, Nov 16 (UNI) All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) would picket the Parliament for 48 hours from November 20, its General Secretary Hannan Mulla said here today.
Talking to newspersons after an AIKS meeting for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, in which about 300 delegates from both the states took part, Mr Mulla said that so far four lakh farmers at the rate of 52 a day had allegedly committed suicide across the country. Since, they are not getting due price for their produce and for such reasons, the suicides are on and the central government remained a mute spectator.
The Narendra Modi government is an “anti-farmer’s” government, he said, adding that police fired at the farmers who organized agitations to press their demands.
He said demanding announcement of adequate price to their produce and waiver of all agricultural loans from Nationalized, Cooperative and Private banks, the AIKS would picket the Parliament. Members of 1084 agriculturists associations comprising lakhs of cadre across the country would take part in the picketing, Mr Mulla said, adding that they would conduct a mock Parliament there and pass their demands as an Act and submit to the Lok Sabha Speaker.
